Name: Squire Dominic Ray de Sinclair (usually shortened to Dominic)
Desired Name:
Age: 15 moons
Rank: N/A
Allegiance: Loner
Birth Moon: Strawberry Moon 2015
Gender: Tom
Appearance: His fur is extremely fluffy, while also silky and luxurious in texture. Though Dominic is already a large-sized cat, the thickness of his fur gives him an even greater appearance. He is light orange in color, with tufts of white scattered throughout his coat. Nose and pads of paws are all pink. Eyes are hooded, and the color of copper.
Personality: This cat is well aware of his noble breeding and lifestyle, and loves every second of it. He is excessively vain, taking great pride is his own appearance. He fully believes that he deserves all the best things in life, and that it should be delivered to him on a silver platter. However, he is not necessarily lazy and will put forth effort in order to get what he wants, if he must. Due to his condescending attitude, he does not have much experience socializing with other cats. Though once he realizes that he may need their help, he is not above making awkward attempts at friendliness. It is in his own best interests to pick up tips from them, after all. Even though he puts himself above all others, he will go out of his way for elders. The fact that the humans he loved were elderly has given him a great respect for age that extends to other cats as well.
History: Squire Dominic has always lived a life of luxury, until recently. He comes from a long line of royalty; both of his parents had won multiple awards at cat shows over their lifetimes. Every kitten from Dominic’s litter had been pre-purchased before they were even born. However, Dominic was never entered into a show himself. The humans who purchased him were an elderly couple who always had to have the finest of everything, and of course their pet was no exception. They pampered him all his life with high-quality, gourmet cat food containing only all-natural ingredients, and never the dry kibble kind either. He was groomed regularly – twice a day, every day. He never wore a collar, for it would have been a shame to flatten his glorious fur. His humans provided a room all of his own in their house, complete with more cat toys, scratching posts, pet beds, and climbing shelves than he could ever want. Even so, he was also allowed to roam the house and to come and go outdoors through a cat door as he pleased. Best of all, his humans’ children and grandchildren had all moved far across the country, so there were no annoying children tugging at his tail or pulling his fur. Dominic loved his life and his humans, and could not imagine a more perfect situation.
However, everything changed one day with no warning. While outside clearing away snow, the male human collapsed, clutching his chest as he fell to the ground. In her rush to reach his side, the woman slipped on a patch of ice. The cracking sound that her bones made on impact was sickening. Dominic paced between the two, meowing frantically but unsure how to help. Minutes later, an ambulance carted them both away, and Dominic never saw them again. He waited around his old house for a couple days, wishing that this was all a bad dream and everything would go back to normal. Hunger finally drove him to beg from other humans. They normally offered him bland, dry kibble, or occasionally a mushy wet lump that left a metallic tang on his tongue. He would refuse at first, hoping they would get the message that he deserved an actual meal, not this garbage. But more was never offered, and his growling stomach would not let him put up a fight forever. In addition to these inadequate meals, it seemed that no human knew the proper way to groom him either. They would stroke him with their smelly, grubby hands, which did absolutely nothing to de-tangle or improve his coat at all. He quickly came to realize that he must have grown up with the only sensible humans in the world, and without them he would now have to learn to fend for himself. Goodbye kittypet comforts; hello to the life of a loner.
