Rosemont | Female | 9 moons | Kittypet
Early morning sunshine filtered in through the window, rousing a small, pale figure that lay in a plush purple pet bed. Her bright blue eyes blinked open and turned up to stare through the glass to the world outside, the cherry tree in the back yard just visible in the lower right corner. Excitement filled her chest as she rose to stretch. Today would be another day of going outside.
After a good amount of attention from her owner and some delicious duck and rice wet cat food, she raced over to the door on her small, dainty paws and meowed. It almost sounded like a tiny bell being rung. A young woman came over and pushed the sliding glass door open for Rose, and out she went.
Once her house folk was back inside, she made her way to a patch of Lamb’s Ear and rubbed her head against it, letting it remind her of the softness of her mother’s belly and the feeling of her siblings’ fur against hers. For a moment she lost herself in the memories, but finally she pulled away and looked around. Today she was getting out and seeing the world. She had been in this garden enough times.
The day before, while she had been exploring one of the corners, she noticed a hole in the wooden fence just big enough for an adult cat to squeeze through. Not quite being that size yet, it was fairly easy for her to slip out and onto the grass on the other side. Off to the left was a row of gray slabs, known as a sidewalk to humans, and cautiously she stepped toward it. She was unaware that she had become covered in patches of dirt where she had to wiggle around a bush to get to the escape hole, but she didn’t mind for now. There was too much new to see in the world to care.

Popsicle Tom | 28 Moons | Kittypet
Popsicle felt the morning light filter down onto his fur from his perch sitting on the corner of where two lines of bright white wooden fencing met - a picket fence if he recalled what one of the older cats in his home said - and had been there for almost an hour considering his new housefolk where early risers and if he hadn't have slipped out when they let them out in the morning he would have been stuck inside all day. The white tom hated being stuck inside the home with the older cats who where much to lazy to go exploring, he preferred to be out in the fresh air watching the swaying of the leaves on the tree's. It was all very much so soothing to Popsicle who was growing sleeping with all of the calming sensations his eyes beginning to droop as he contemplated whether he would find a place to nap or continue his venture in exploring.
The sight of a young cat across the street slipping creeping out cautiously caught his attention within seconds. Only being partially awoken by this, Popsicle simply tipped his head to the side curiously at the sight and lowered his body a bit more to hide behind one of the white posts so the cat wouldn't see him. He had no idea who this cat was - and he planned to watch them before coming to any conclusions, just to be on the safe side...even if he wanted to go greet the new cat after all they were neighbors.
((I'm so sorry this is horrible, please forgive me senpai's D:))

Rex | Male | 44 Moons | Loner
It wasn't often Rex found himself wandering through the Twolegplace, but the ginger and white tom had grown bored with lazing around the hollow doing nothing. It was good to stretch one's legs every now and then, besides, he could really use the exercise. It had been a good season for rabbits and he'd had plenty of prey this moon. Regardless, this trip wasn't just for exploring. Part of him hoped he might see his old companion Bella again. Perhaps make one last trip to the house he had once called home. Maybe Bella's new housefolk would have changed their minds. Maybe they'd let him in again.
Still, Rex knew kittypets weren't always friendly. The torn tip of his right ear could attest to that. He'd made the mistake of leaping down into a yard uninvited as a younger cat, almost immediately being knocked off his paws by a huge gray tabby who than proceeded to teach him a rather unpleasant lesson in manners. Shuddering at the memory he was careful to stay on the other side of the fences as he headed into the quiet neighborhood. He turned a corner and almost walked straight into a small she-cat. Rex jumped back a few steps, his fur bristling in alarm before he noted she was only a kitten. He let his fur lie flat and relaxed. "I'm sorry little one, I didn't see you there," he apologized, hoping he hadn't scared the younger cat and feeling a little embarrassed he'd been so startled himself. He really needed to pay more attention!
Green eyes scanned over the youngster, she couldn't be any older than 10 moons at the most, hoping he hadn't frightened her too badly. "What are you doing out here by yourself? It's not safe to venture beyond your garden alone," he meowed in mild alarm once he realized no cat was accompanying her. Even with her dirt smeared pelt Rose didn't look equipped to handle the harsh ways of the streets. "Does your mother know you're out here?"
{{Knows her for like two seconds and is already a dad. Good job Rex.}}

Rosemont | Female | 9 moons | Kittypet Rosemont stared around her, eyes wide as they passed over a dark gray surface not far from the sidewalk. So far nothing was on it, but it smelled strange, and made her wrinkle up her delicate nose. Across the street were more housefolk nests, some with shiny monsters out front like the one her owner had brought her home in a quarter moon ago. They all seemed to be sleeping, and she was glad. They were loud, noisy, and smelled bad. Even the inside of them had a funky smell. Still, one of them had given her the opportunity to get out in the world away from her parents, especially her overbearing mother.
Suddenly, something much larger than her bumped into her back. Fur rising, she flung herself around, only to find another cat standing there. She flattened her coat immediately, relaxing at the sight of another feline, even if he was larger than her. Rose had never met a vicious cat before, so she had no reason to be afraid of any cats. When the stranger apologized, this only solidified her theory that all cats were kind even more, which might someday get her in worse trouble than she ever got in with her mother. Grinning like she had just caught a bubble, she meowed, “That’s okay, Mister!” with her tail raised to greet him.
Her eyes clouded in confusion by his question, however. “My mother? She’s far away, Mister. I live with my housefolk now. But she doesn’t know I’m out here. She’d never let me go on an adventure, just like my mom wouldn’t. But there’s so much to see!” she cried, turning in a circle to quickly see all the things she could get into. “How can I possibly just stay inside my garden when there’s all this out here?”

Popsicle Tom | 28 Moons | Kittypet Blue eyes blinking in shock at the arrival of another cat, tail poofing out slightly when they jumped about from each other although he felt himself calm down when they seemed to begin to converse politely. Popsicle warily watched them unsure whether he should make himself known or stay out of hearing range from the two unknown cats. Tail twitching as he contemplated his options he very well couldn't help his neighbor if the golden tom turned hostile. Making up his mind he quietly and oh so gracefully slid off the white picket fence and stood on the rough ground of the twoleg path.
Glancing both ways down the rougher, darker monster path he deemed the road quiet enough for him to simply trot across. Legs trotting across the rough ground, and tail held high and crooked sideways at the end to show his friendliness to the other two if they caught sight of him. Stepping back onto the more smoother twoleg path without so much as one monster even appearing during his journey. Giving a soft sigh, his nerves suddenly spiked and he shuffled his paws unsure if he should get closer.

Rex | Male | 44 Moons | Loner
Once it was clear the young she-cat hadn't been too terribly bothered by their near run-in Rex allowed himself a sigh of relief. His own tail raised in a friendly greeting to further prove he meant no harm as Rosemont graciously accepted his apology. His ears folded back against his skull in momentary embarrassment as she explained she no longer lived with her birth mother. Rex often forgot Twolegs didn't allow their house pets to keep their children for very long. It was perhaps the main reason he had decided against bringing Fox and Flame back home with him, not that Red would have ever allowed it. He would have never forgiven himself if his kits were given away to some other housefolk, their new homes unknown to him.
He chuckled softly at her enthusiasm, heart warming at the sight of such an energetic youth. This cat reminded him so much of Flame. She had been the same way at this age. Eager for a new adventure. "The world beyond the garden can be very exciting. Is this your first time away from home?" He wasn't quite sure she understood the dangers that could be waiting for her out here if she didn't remain vigilant. His conscience wouldn't allow him to leave her on her own now until he was sure she knew the possible consequences of wandering too far from her den. "My name is Rex by the way. What are you called?"
A glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye had Rex's head turning just in time to spot a small white tom heading their way. Rex had to do a double-take because he had never quite seen a cat with ears like that, oddly curled and giving his head a rather unique shape. Realizing it was rude to stare, especially considering one of his own ears wasn't quite normal, he sent a friendly glance Popsicle's way and beckoned him closer with flick of his tail. "It looks like one of your neighbors wants to join us. Do you know him?" He asked Rose curiously.

Rosemont | She-Cat | 9 moons | Kittypet “Yup!” she meowed, grinning. “I just found out how to get out of my garden today.” Rose shook some of the dirt off of her, and gave a tiny, mouse-like sneeze when some of it got in her nose. She lifted a paw and placed it over her nose, as if to say, “excuse me,” or to wipe her nose. Even though she was easily excitable, she still had manners. Her mother had drilled quite a few of them into her head as a kitten.
“I’m Rosemont, but you can call me Rose!” she purred, her eyes closing as her smile grew. “Enchanted to meet you, Rex.”
The pale ginger cat’s eyes turning to a new point had her looking as well, and she caught sight of a cat with oddly curled ears and brilliant blue eyes. If Rose’s muzzle could have supported it, her smile would have been as bright as the sun at the sight of the newcomer.
“Nope, never seen him before!” she meowed as she skipped over and sniffed at Popsicle in greeting. Then she did an entire circle around him before finally settling in front of him. “Who are you? I’m Rosemont. Or Rose. That’s Rex over there. We should go have an adventure together!” Hopefully the two toms could deal with this high-energy cat.

Popsicle Tom | 28 Moons | Kittypet
Luckily for the white tom the other tom seemed friendly enough and even beckoned him closer, but his paws remained rooted to the spot when the younger she cat turned and looked at him sporting a startling bright smile. Well that was new, Popsicle had never quite met new cats that had treated him so warmly upon first glance even the older three cats in his household treated him as though he was simply and annoyance. A shy smile found it's way worming on to his face in response, he wasn't quite sure if these cats were trustworthy but he'd give them a chance if only because there was a feeling in his bones telling him to.
Upon the younger cat approaching him, he sniffed back automatically and watched as the young queen circled him and then sat in front of him and started talking. Popsicle doubted the young cat had taken one breath in her entire speech, and waited patiently until she was done. Dipping his head slightly in greeting like his father had taught him many, many moons ago he gave his shy smile once again.
"Greetings Rosemont, and Rex." he said, even dipping his head to the golden cat. "I'm Popsicle." he said softly, partially embarrassed by his truly housefolk name that he bore. "Adventure?" he echoed quietly. "Where do you have in mind?" he asked head tipping to the side as he spoke.

Rex | Male | 44 Moons | Loner
"Did your mother happen to to tell you anything about the outside world before you left her?" Rex asked, though he expected the answer was no. Rosemont was practically the definition of a soft and pampered kittypet. The street cats would eat her alive. "It's lovely to meet you as well Rose," he purred warmly once she introduced herself. His pelt prickled in concern however as Rose announced she didn't actually know the tom approaching them and pranced over to him without even checking to see if he were hostile or not. He quickly moved to follow her, eyeing the smaller tom more warily. One hint of aggression and he would be herding the kit as far away from him as possible.
Once it became clear Popsicle meant neither of them any harm Rex allowed himself to relax. The pale-furred cat appeared reserved and quiet, but not unfriendly. A good sign. He returned Rose's greeting politely and nodded to them both in a formal way. Between the two neatly groomed cats, because even sprinkled with a bit of dirt Rose was still clearly well cared for, Rex felt a bit out of place. His own coat was filthy and ragged, right ear torn at the tip, left forever flopped over like a dog and muzzle marred with scars. What must he look like to these young cats?
As talk of an adventure popped up Rex glanced between the two in uncertainty. "I already know you haven't been beyond your garden before today Rose. Have you Popsicle?" He inquired. Where did he even begin?

Rosemont | She-Cat | 9 moons | Kittypet Rosemont filled with joy when Popsicle returned her sniff. So far, he was turning out much nicer than her family was to strangers. Once their housefolk had gotten a new, weird looking cat with a long muzzle and wiry hair, and its voice was a lot gruffer, and all her mother and father would do was swat at the new cat. The fact that both males had automatically been kind to her was enough to give her hope that she’d find more cats that weren’t like her parents out here where she lived now. She wasn’t sure how she could have bared to be with her family now that she knew!
Popsicle did do one thing that she had seen her parents do multiple times, however, and that was when he dipped his head. She recognized it as a more formal way to greet others, and she felt surprised to see not only Popsicle do it, but Rex as well. Perhaps all cats had some sort of training in rich cat etiquette.
“A pleasure to meet you, Popsicle,” she said, not even realizing how much his name sounded out of place as a cat’s namesake. But then again, all three of them had rather odd names. Rex was more often used for those long-muzzled cats, and Rosemont, well, Rosemont was a street name.
Rex’s voice had her looking up at him, and she shook her head slowly. “My mother never wanted me outside. We’re supposed to be show cats. So I never got to go on adventures before, not until I met my new housefolk and she started letting me come out.”

Popsicle Tom | 28 Moons | Kittypet
"Ah, yes. Although I don't typically go too far because I may get lost on my way back." He admitted sheepishly to Rex's question, watching the two cat's interaction with a shy smile. Popsicle wasn't quite sure where these two cats wanted to go exploring at, but he hoped it wasn't deeper into the Twoleg place - he had encountered some rather battle scarred street cats there and they weren't the friendliest lot when you were a wandering cat. With that in mind the white tom couldn't help but wondering about the non-twoleg place in the opposite direction, the tops of large tree's visible if he stood up on top of the fencing between the yards. A sense of yearning flickered in his belly, but worry of the unknown quickly squashed it. The thought once more returning to of what they wanted to go explore.
(I....couldn't think of anything >.>)

Rex | Tom | 44 Moons | Loner
"So neither of you have explored the Twolegplace before..." Rex murmured, mind drifting a bit as he thought over how best to explain the dangers that may await any young cat who decided to foolishly head out on their own without discouraging Rosemont's enthusiasm or potentially frightening Popsicle. "There are certain things you two ought to know before we go anywhere. Come over here for a moment," He meowed before heading behind a set of hedges for a bit of privacy. If any housefolk, other cats or dogs came wandering down the street at the least they would be hidden from immediate view while they talked.
"There are any number of things in the Twolegplace that could pose as possible dangers. Unfriendly cats, dogs, monsters and even Twolegs. Your housefolk may be kind to you, but you should never trust a Twoleg you don't know or allow them to touch you," Rex continued once the other cats had joined him, glancing between both with a serious expression. "Be vigilant of your surroundings always. Never approach a dog and be wary around unfamiliar cats. Most of all make sure you know where you are going. The Twolegplace is very big and if you become lost you may never find your way home again."

Rosemont | She-Cat | 9 moons | Kittypet Rosemont hadn’t even thought about potentially getting lost if she went too far away from her home, and as she looked around, she noticed that many of the houses looked very similar. How would she ever know which house was hers if there was one that was identical? She’d have to figure that part out. Perhaps Rex would have some ideas on how to keep track of where she was. After all, he came from the forest, and all the trees out there were pretty much copies of each other, so there must be some way that he kept up with it.
Rex’s voice brought her back out of her thoughts, and she peered up at him with brilliant blue eyes. The tone of his voice didn’t sound very encouraging to her, and she wondered what was around this place that could possibly warrant his reaction. His next words, enticing them to follow him so he could speak with them, did nothing to curb her confusion as to what in the world could be so bad. Nevertheless, she followed him behind the hedges, noting that anything that walked on the light colored hard stone (sidewalk) wouldn’t be able to see them from here. Where things really that dangerous out there?
His words sent a cold chill through her. Unfriendly cats and housefolk? Getting lost and never being able to find her way home? As sure as she was that her housefolk would come looking for her, she couldn’t help but fear that if that happened she’d never even be allowed out in the garden again. But there was something that Rex had said that she didn’t quite understand. Two things, in fact. Tilting her head up at him, she asked, “What’s a dog? And what is… vig-ill-ant?” It had never dawned on her that the strange, long-muzzled cat she once met was actually called a dog.

Popsicle Tom | 28 Moons | Kittypet Ears pricking as Rex beckoned them away from the path, he slowly followed the other two with a wary glance over his shoulder. Even if they didn't seem dangerous, it was always better safe than sorry. Sitting down daintily, he laid his ears back as the golden tom started explaining stuff about Twolegplace. He was pulled out of his internal debate of asking not to explore the deep reaches of the Twolegplace when Rosemont asked a few questions. "I'm not sure how to describe a dog." he said softly "but vigilant means keep a watchful eye on your surrounding and be ready for anything."
Shuffling his paws nervously he glanced over to Rex with wide blue eyes. "Would it be rude to ask if we did not explore Twolegplace? Wouldn't there be someone safer for a cat that hasn't gone exploring before?" he asked, tail flicking in Rosemont's direction to be clear.

Rex | Tom | 44 Moons | Loner
Rex could see his words were having an effect on Rosemont at the least. He didn’t want to scare the little queen, but he also knew he couldn’t allow her to wander around the neighborhood uneducated. That was how cats ended up hurt, or worse. Once she spoke up inquiring as to what he’d meant, he was caught a bit off-guard by the fact she didn’t know what a dog was. After thinking on it he supposed it made sense considering she had never ventured beyond her own yard before today. If her housefolk didn’t have a dog she may have never even seen one yet.
"Popsicle is right. To be vigilant is to be aware,” he explained calmly, long tail wrapping around his paws as he spoke. “When away from home you should always be watchful and cautious, especially if you are going somewhere you’ve never been before. A dog is…” He paused in uncertainty. How did he explain this one? “Dogs are Twoleg pets. They come in varying shapes and sizes, but one thing is for certain, they are predators. Predators who, given the opportunity, will hunt cats. They usually have long, pointed muzzles and large bodies, but some are small and a few even have rather flat faces. They have an awful stench. You’ll know a dog once you smell one. They’re very loud and make a sound called a bark.”
Popsicle's inquiry of whether there were a safer area to explore had Rex shaking his head sadly in response. "I am afraid not. Every place has it's dangers. It is why many housefolk do not let their cats outside... I suppose though, the wilds do no have monsters and Twolegs at the least."
