There are many different ranks within the Clan dynamic, and they change quite frequently throughout a cat's life. If you're having trouble figuring out what rank your cat is, or you're not sure what someone's rank means, this is the guide for you!
Kit: A cat under 6 moons, still being cared for by their mother. Lives in the nursery.
Apprentice: A cat over the age of 6 moons that is in training to become a warrior. They are assigned a mentor and taught the ways of Clan life. Lives in the apprentices' den.
Warrior: A mature cat that has completed their training. A queen is considered a warrior if she is not currently nursing kits. Lives in the warriors' den.
Senior Warrior: A cat that is held in high regards by the Clan and is very experienced. Part of the leader's inner circle and is trusted by them. Lives in the warriors' den.
Mentor: A warrior that is currently training an apprentice. Generally an experienced cat, and one that the leader trusts. Most mentors are senior warriors. Lives in the warriors' den.
Queen: A female cat that is expecting or nursing kits. Lives in the nursery until her kits become apprentices, then moves back to the warriors' den.
Elder: An old cat that has served their duty as a warrior and has decided to retire or become unable to continue with warrior duties. Lives in the elders' den.
Medicine Cat: A cat that heals and acts as a priest/priestess for the Clan. They are not permitted to have a mate or kits, as their only focus should be serving their Clan. Lives in the medicine den.
Medicine Cat Apprentice: A cat over the age of 6 moons in training to become a full Medicine Cat. Lives in the medicine den.
Deputy: A cat second in command to the leader. Helps carry out duties such as organizing patrols and advises the leader on difficult matters. If the leader dies, this cat will become leader in their place. Lives in the warriors' den.
Leader: The cat in charge of the entire Clan. They are given nine lives by StarClan to help them lead their Clan. Lives in the leader's den.
