Name: Rosemary
Desired Name: Rosetail
Age: 20 moons
Rank: N/A
Allegiance: Rogues
Birth Moon: The Harvest Moon, 2013
Gender: Queen
Appearance: Rosemary is a lithe, brindled tortoiseshell she-cat with pale yellow eyes. She has no white on her, just black and ginger, which is mostly in small patches, though there are larger ginger patches on her back and hind legs. She is well-built for running over long distances, which makes it easier for her to run down fast moving prey like rabbits. She can also jump and climb trees well due to the strong muscles in her hind legs. Her fur is very short and her nose is a solid black. She's proud of keeping her fur clean and looking nice, even if it's only for her own benefit.
Personality: Rosemary is very introverted and inherently quiet. She prefers to remain within her own head and speak rarely, though she acknowledges that she needs interaction every once in a while. Within her head she’ll reflect on her actions and decisions for a long time. She thinks that thinking to herself is better than speaking to others, because whenever you speak out loud to others it’s easier to make mistakes you can’t fix.
While interacting with others Rosemary is prickly and occasionally rude. Sometimes this is on purpose and sometimes it’s not, but even if it’s accidental she often doesn’t apologize outright, instead choosing to try and make up for it in other ways. She doesn’t trust others unless they have given her a very, very good reason to or she has known them for many moons. Also, she firmly believes that others will move on within a few moons, so she shoves others away instead of getting close to them.
She can also be very narrow-minded and is a “see it to believe it” type. She’s set in her ways and she’s not willing to change--“if it’s not broke don’t fix it.” This applies to her lifestyle in general and to more specific things. E.g.: Living alone has worked well for her, so why should she live in a group? Staying in -this kind of- nest keeps her warm, so why try something different? As for seeing to believe, this applies to things like legends and tales as well as more everyday things, such as, say, a large group of cats living and working well together. It seems out of reach for her, so until she sees someone else doing it well, she won’t think it works.
She rarely shows affection to others, remaining neutral in her comments, though when someone impresses her greatly she will give some acknowledgment. When she gets closer to someone she starts to make nicer comments on a regular basis, but it really depends on the kind of relationship she has with the cat in question.
Despite her avoidance to interaction she’s not afraid to speak her mind when she feels it necessary. If someone’s saying something that she knows or believes to be wrong she will counter it and she’ll also point out things that irk her. She’s doesn’t avoid fights, physical or verbal, though she doesn’t really go out of her way to start them. She’s almost constantly worried that she’ll say something wrong or trip over her words.
Rosemary is, or at least likes to consider herself, entirely self-sufficient. She’s also very proud of this fact. Admitting an inability to complete a task (either due to illness, an injury, or just a lack of skill) is a huge blow to both her self-confidence and her pride. Whenever she sets a goal she will work to achieve it unless it becomes impossible or just entirely impractical.
History: Rosemary was born in a litter of three to a rogue mother. She was raised with her siblings for a short time and then left once she was old enough to survive on her own, just as her other siblings. Over the course of her life she has spent time in various places, including the streets of a Twolegplace, where she stayed for almost four moons, and several different forests. She never stays in one place for long, since she has nothing to hold her down. If she did she might be more inclined to stick around. Several times throughout the course of her life she has assumed different names with the top four being Scarlet, Night, Basil, and the one her mother gave her, Rosemary. She uses Rosemary the most often and is currently using it.
