Name: Flicker
Desired Name:
Age: 21 moons
Rank: N/A
Allegiance: Loner
Birth Moon: Cold Moon 2014
Gender: Tom
Appearance:
Classic tabby tom with long light grey fur. His striping is in a dark grey color. He is very long-legged and thin, with unusually large paws for his size and his generally lanky frame. He is an oriental longhair and has the face to match, with large slanted green eyes.
Personality: Flicker's youth was spent around a lot of other cats. Being in a breeding program run by careless overlookers, he was often left with whatever cats were in the house, regardless of who else was there. As such, he learned to not rely on his friends' presences hanging around too long. He is very quiet and easily unnerved when meeting new cats, but once he really does get to know a cat, he will go to great lengths to protect them from physical harm. He tries not too seem too needy, and prefers to take care of himself rather than sharing tongues or letting other cats do things for him. On the flip side, he is never too busy to help out another cat (even when he actually is too busy).
Flicker is a terrible land-prey hunter. He can catch birds, as he can jump long distances, but prey that must be stalked evades him easily. This is due to his body, which he senses as smaller than it is (he is incredibly clumsy with his lanky limbs and tail). He takes it in stride, and finds it to be a point of pride for him, as he enjoys swimming and likes to show off how much more efficient he is at catching water-prey than land-prey whenever water is around. He is also easily found in or near water when the weather is very sunny or otherwise hot out, whether to actually cool off or just to show off.
History: Flicker was bred in a litter as a kittypet by a wannabe breeder of backyard origins looking to make it big. He lived among many other cats in a household setting, and many cats came and went through his home when he was young. After his owner's business failed, however, he and the other program cats were sold off or sent to shelters. He was still fairly young at that point, so his owners sent him to a shelter in the hopes of him being adopted out quickly. He was, but to a family who got him only because of his strange looks and their children's fascination with his appearance. He was subsequently left on the doorstep a week or so later to handle himself in the wild. He did so very poorly, and eventually ended up relying on an indoor-outdoor cat to teach him how to live on his own. His dependence on others has not faded, nor has his tendency to overlook the severity of certain things.
