8th of the Sturgeon Moon 2016(August 8th) | Around Noon | W/ Luck, Clover, and Red. Others may join if they would like. The sun was as high in the sky as it could be, shining down against the tall trees of the forest, the rough thunderpaths of the twoleg place, and the fur of many. Two ocean blue eyes looked up at the tall wooden barrier separating one of the many twoleg dens from the forest, meant to keep the cats that lived there inside and the cats who didn't out. But this cat didn't want to be kept inside the borders. She wanted to explore. To see the world. To learn more about things she didn't know before, including those groups of cats known as "clans" that she had heard about from other cats. They sounded so interesting, even though she didn't know much about them. In her mind, she could picture cats grooming each other in a big clearing, another cat carrying around herbs, and one large cat standing above them all. In a way, she saw herself as that cat, looking down at all of her friends and maybe even family. I highly doubt I would ever actually become a Leader of a clan, real or not. My mom wouldn't even let me leave the fence to be able to, she thought, jumping up onto the top of the dark wooden posts, sitting atop one of them and looking out into the forest. Even from where she was she could feel eyes locked onto her back, most likely coming from inside the house where her mother watched her from a window right above the yard. Slightly sighing, the young queen watched a light breeze shift the leaves of the trees and make bushes shuffle. Wait....that's not the wind, she thought, her eyes locking onto the bushes not far from her fence

Clover || Queen || 15 moons || Loner A small brown and white tabby picked her way through the trees, grateful for the shade in the greenleaf heat. While the warmer months were always appreciated for providing plentiful food and shelter, she couldn't help but wish it was just a bit cooler. The young queen had wanted to just lay down and wait for nightfall, but her stomach had other ideas. Deciding to explore while she hunted, she wandered away from the river and towards what appeared to be a row of twoleg nests. The forest started to thin out as she got closer, much to her dismay, but the idea that she might get to talk to another cat for the first time in nearly a moon was rather appealing. Her belly still growled quietly now and then, but at this point she was more focused on seeing if there were friendly cats around than looking for a meal. As she stepped out from between some bushes, Clover's attention was immediately drawn to a cat sitting on the wooden fence. When she saw the other cat was watching her, she tried to appear as friendly as possible; she knew from experience that not all house cats were welcoming when someone came wandering into their territory, despite the common notion that they would turn tail at the first sign of danger. If Clover was honest with herself, she was more likely to do that than any of the house cats she had ever met. "Hello!" The tabby called as she padded closer, keeping her tail high and ears held forward. "How are you?"
(( Aah, I feel super rusty, this took way longer than it normally would have and I still feel like it isn't my best ;; At least I'll have lots of time to improve now that activity is picking up ^^ Also that template thing is really nice, Fox! I might have to see if I can find/code one for each of my characters c: ))

Red | Female | 43 moons | Rogue
The trees above hid the orange tabby from move of the sun’s brilliant rays, save for the few that slipped down through the cracks in the leafy canopy. The she-cat was making her way from her home on the other edge of the forest to Twolegplace, where she hoped to encourage some loners or kittypets to join her in recreating one of the four Clans of the forest.
It had been a long time since she was last this way. It brought back memories of her mother, of stealing food from shops, of scrounging through trashcans when they couldn’t get into anyone’s stuff. Of the way mice taste different in the city than in the wilderness. Shaking her head, she pushed on, knowing she was about to break through and see lines of twoleg nests all stacked neatly together in a row.
Before she reached the foliage that bordered the Twolegplace, however, her ear twitched in the direction of moving bushes. Her yellow eyes pinpointed another cat, a petite tabby with white against her fur. Hm... she thought, slinking down into a crouch and trying to quietly push through the leaves on another side of the barrier of flora. Once she did, she noticed not only the tabby, but another cat, one with a black, brown, and white coat in a pattern she had never seen before on any cat. Interesting.
Sliding out, she stretched out her tail and took a few steps towards the two. “Well, hello there,” she purred, dipping her head to each of them in turn.

As the bushes moved apart and revealed that which was moving them, nearly black ears perked as a cat appeared from the green leaves. As far as the femme could tell, it was a brown tabby she-cat with white markings. Never before had Luck seen this cat, nor did she ever think that a wild cat would appear in front of her while she was merely relaxing on her wooden fence post. Before she could even respond, another voice filled her ears, causing her deep blue eyes to turn, seeing another cat appear from the woods. This time it was an orange tabby with white markings, presumably female as well. Seeing one creature of the woods had been a surprise on its own, but two at once was very shocking. As both of the she-cats spoke, she actually felt an urge to talk to them. These she-cats had came from the woods, a place that Luck had never been before, but always dreamed of going. There were so many questions and not enough time. "Hello! Do you two live in the woods? What are you doing so close to the twoleg places, " the queen questioned, only just barely able to hold back her excitement. Yes, she saw other cats everyday, so seeing more cats shouldn't be a surprise. But the only cats the unique-patterned she ever saw were those that lived with her and others that loomed in the windows of the twoleg dens beside her own. Seeing cats that came from the woods was new and exciting, exactly how Luck liked it.

Clover || Queen || 15 moons || Loner Getting closer, Clover realized the unusually coloured she-cat sitting on the fence was the opposite of threatened; she seemed almost excited at her approach. The queen opened her mouth, but when a greeting came from behind her Clover whirled around in surprise. Another cat, a ginger tabby, had strolled from the woods and she hadn't even noticed. It should have concerned her, how easy it was for another cat to sneak up on her while she was distracted, but the only thing on her mind was that now she had two cats to talk to! She replied to the cat behind her with a cheerful greeting before turning back to the she-cat on the fence. "I've been traveling through the woods for a few sunrises now," she explained. "I saw the twoleg nests and thought I'd stop by to see if anyone wanted to chat for a bit! It's been ages since I talked to another cat." The tabby fondly remembered the two old toms she had stayed with nearly a moon ago. They had treated her to endless stories, seeming grateful for the company. Their tales ranged from those that could almost be true to some that were anything but. Still, she listened to them all with rapt attention, trying to remember every word. She had even asked them to tell her a few of her favourites twice. It had been sad to leave the friendly toms, really. But she had grown restless again so she bid them farewell and started on her travels again. At least the cats here were nice enough. Maybe she would stay here for a while, too.

Red | She-Cat | 43 moons | Rogue Red’s golden eyes softened. These cats actually seemed nice. Perhaps this would be like old times, where she and her two kits and former mate had gotten along and had conversations that lasted for hours on end. While that wasn’t her true purpose for coming to Twolegplace, she couldn’t help but hope for it. It had been quite a long time since she had been around friendly cats, as the forest was full of rogues that wanted nothing more than to fight over everything. Herself included.
“I live on the edge of the woods and hunt there often. I, too, came for a bit of socialization, but perhaps of a different sort.”
She glanced between the tabby and the tri-colored she-cat, wondering if she should proceed. But that was why she had come in the first place. There was no reason to tiptoe around her intentions. “Have either of you heard tales of the four Clans that used to live in the forest? I know there are at least some cats here in Twolegplace that have been told about them. Oh, and before I forget—I’m known as Red,” she meowed, flicking her tail in a quick wave.

As the brown tabby she-cat spoke, Luck listened with wide eyes and perked ears. Just the fact that the femme got to travel through the woods all the time seemed so shocking. She had never been in the woods before, so just getting to travel through them for a single sunrise would be an amazing feeling on its own. Then, when the other she-cat who had joined the party spoke. When she said that she lived in the woods, at the edge or not, that also put a smile on the curious queen's face. But that excitement was nothing compared to when the she-cat mentioned the four clans of the forest. The second that they were spoke of, the multicolored femme stood, her tail fluffing up, in a good way, and her eyes widening in happiness. "You know of them?! I'm not the only one that believes in them!" She could barely contain her excitement, but she knew that she had to calm down. Her eyes glanced back towards her twoleg nest, where she saw her mother glaring at her through the window. Taking a seat again and calming herself for a moment, she tried to hide that she was talking to other cats or getting excited. "Red? I'm Luck. What about you, " she asked, looking towards the brown tabby who had not yet introduced herself.

Clover || Queen || 15 moon || Loner Clover's eyes widened at the mention of the Clans. She had heard so many stories about them that they had all begun to blend together, but they were some of her favourites. The tabby doubted they were true, now that she was older and could separate fact from fiction. Even so, every once in a while she let her mind drift to the possibility that they weren't just stories. The way Red was asking about them now made her wonder if they had some basis in truth after all. It was surprising for another cat to mention them so seriously, without a hint of storytelling in their voice. Before she could respond, the she-cat on the fence shot to her paws in excitement. She confirmed that not only had she heard of the Clans too, she also believed in them. Clover found herself wondering where a house cat like her would have heard the stories. Then, as if remembering something important, the queen glanced over her shoulder and immediately composed herself. Still, there was a faint glimmer in her eyes that betrayed her enthusiasm. She politely introduced herself in a soft voice. "It's nice to meet both of you! My name is Clover, I should have introduced myself before," she said apologetically. How was she supposed to make friends if they didn't know her name? "I've heard about the Clans, too. Do you know any stories about them? Even if they're just tales for kits like everyone says, I'd love to hear them." She didn't mind if they were stories she had already heard. No matter how many times she listened to them, she still enjoyed them just the same.

Red | She-Cat | 43 moons | Rogue Red’s eyes widened when Luck became excited at the mention of the Clans. She’d never seen another cat become so enthusiastic about them before, except maybe her own kits when they were young and full of promise. Perhaps there was a chance that she would be able to convince these cats to join her after all. Thoughts collided with each other in her mind as she tried to keep up with each one, but finally she mentally brushed them all to the side so that she could think properly. This one cat—Luck—she was definitely a kittypet, and it could be very difficult to get her to leave that pampered life. Clover, on the other paw, might be more willing… Or she might be if she actually believed in the Clans. From the way she spoke and the words she said, it was obvious that she had heard enough tall tales to think the four Clans had never existed.
“I do know of them,” she said calmly, moving to settle so the three of them made a triangle. It made it easier for her to look back and forth between the two, without straining her neck too much to see Clover. Even though neither of them showed any signs of hostility, she had been taught to always keep your eye on your enemy, even if it’s just in your peripheral vision.
“I’ve heard a lot about the Clans. Of the brave actions of ThunderClan, of the beautiful swimmers of RiverClan, of the tireless runners of WindClan, and of the darkness in the hearts of ShadowClan cats. But I believe most of these tales to be true. Perhaps the WindClan cats couldn’t really jump over the gorge—I’ve seen it, by the way, the gorge—but the Clans surviving off the forest and working together to raise kits and keep each other healthy? I believe in that. That’s why I want to reform the Clans. How great would it be for cats to do that again? We could protect each other, share ideas, and we’d be in the forest away from the dangerous monsters and dogs of twolegplace.”
The red she-cat was hoping her words were luring them in, making them want to try out the idea of a Clan. Even if she couldn’t get them to stick it out, word of a cat trying to create a Clan would spread because of these two. It might make it easier for her to make her dream a reality.

As the now named Clover spoke, Luck was calming herself while listening. The thought of other cats knowing about the clans did make the young she quite excited. She had always believed in them ever since she was a kit. Her and her siblings, before they were given away, used to lay at their mother's paws and fall asleep listening to the stories. Those were fun times, but things like that never happened anymore. When the femme asked what stories she knew, she was actually somewhat disappointed that she didn't remember every detail of them. "My mother used to tell me and my siblings stories of the clans when we were little. But now that I'm older my mom always says that their just tales meant to excite kits. But I've always believed in them, " she meowed calmly, flicking her tail. Then, once Red began to speak, she listened with open ears as she said what she did. The thought of rebuilding the clans sounded like the best idea she had heard in a long time, besides getting to explore the forest. For a moment, Luck was tempted to say that she would gladly rebuild the clans with Red and Clover, but then a thought popped into her head. But mom... She snuck a glance back at her twoleg home for just a moment before looking back towards the red female. "Honestly, I would gladly build the clans with you. Being a part of a clan where you can see kits, help others, and survive together would be amazing. But believe me when I say that I have tried to leave my twoleg home to do something like that many times before. I would gladly leave this twoleg place the second I got the chance. It's just that both my mother and my twolegs are very protective over me. My mom hardly even lets me come outside anymore. But if either running away from my home or convincing my mom means I can help reform a clan and get to be in the woods, I would gladly do it. It would just...take a little while."

Clover || Queen || 15 moons || Loner Clover nodded as Red listed out the qualities of each Clan, remembering them fairly easily. Though many things changed in the stories depending on who was telling them, those usually stayed the same. As the ginger she-cat moved from the amazing feats of each Clan to the more peaceful every-day life they had supposedly shared, the little tabby found herself day-dreaming again. She imagined cats hunting together, kits tumbling around happily as their Clanmates watched, one cat tending another when they fell ill. When she said it like that, it could almost seem real. It took a couple of heartbeats for the rest of the queen's speech to sink in, and when it did Clover stared at her in awed disbelief. "You're going to... Reform the Clans?" It seemed like too big a challenge for just one cat. "Is that even possible?" She noticed how the older queen automatically included her and Luck with a casual "we", and the same scenes as before flashed through her mind. This time, she was there too. The thought had never occurred to her before, but now that it had she wanted it to be real. Red seemed to think it could be. Before she had finished mulling it over, Luck responded along the same lines she was thinking. The house cat had obviously had the idea for a while, but it sounded like she was having trouble making it happen with her over-protective mother and twolegs. This could be her chance to finally live the way she wanted, too. Excitement started to prickle under Clover's pelt.
"I'd be happy to help, too," she told Red, her tail twitching slightly. It wasn't clear to her exactly how she would help just yet, but she was sure the queen had ideas of what she could do. Maybe she even had a solution to Luck's situation. "It sounds like such a nice way to live, I want to at least try."

Red | She-Cat | 43 moons | Rogue It was good that both cats knew about the Clans. It would save her some trouble, since the stories of what the Clans were like and basic everyday life was normally the first thing anyone ever told another cat about them. Most cats viewed them as just tales told to kittens to put them to sleep at night, and maybe that was true. It didn’t matter to Red. She was going to see to it that the Clans existed, either again or for the first time ever. The one thing she didn’t know much about was StarClan, which was only vaguely mentioned to her once long ago. Something about where dead Clan cats go. If only she could contact them somehow! Then she could prove once and for all if the Clans truly ever walked the earth.
“Most of the stories I’ve heard came from various cats here, in Twolegplace,” Red told them, sweeping her tail in a grand gesture to suggest all over the large area. “My mother didn’t believe in them, and didn’t particularly like others telling me about them, but the stories fascinated me. I can’t say for sure if they ever really existed, since I wasn’t there, but if they didn’t… I want them to be around now. It would be great.” She nodded, truly thinking that living in the wild amongst other cats would be as wonderful as she thought.
“I am not honestly sure what to do about your situation, Luck,” she said sadly. “My own mother simply used me to get food, and I eventually left her because I was tired of being the one she made do everything. If she ever came looking for me once I ran away, I never knew about it. My mother could never have made it as a Clan cat. She wouldn’t hunt for anyone. She wouldn’t even tell a kit a bedtime story. I don’t know your twolegs or your mother, however. They may come looking for you.”
Looking to Clover, she tilted her head with a sympathetic look on her face. “Any ideas, Clover?”

As awful as it might have sounded to anyone else, the thought of leaving her twoleg home was like a dream. She would get to explore, see the world, learn new things, learn about the clans. She wouldn't have to worry about constantly being babied by her mother and her twolegs. It didn't matter if twolegs gave you a home and a bed and food every day and water. The food was gross, the beds were hardly as comfy as others might think, and the home itself has rules. Rules that, if broken, get punished for. In the woods you were free. There were no rules, nothing holding you back. That was what Luck wanted, Red and Clover wanting to build the warrior cat clans up again was her key to freedom and a life she had always wanted. But there was one big issue standing in her way. "Trust me when I say that I do want to help rebuild the clans. I would gladly help you the second I got the chance. But I'm gonna have to talk to my mother about it. I can try to convince her to let me go, but it might take a while. But I promise that I will come out into the woods and look for you the second that I can." As she spoke, the queen looked down at the other two she-cats, looking over each one of them. Both of them seemed like really nice cats. Clover the brown and white tabby, and Red the orange and red tabby. Even though it was somewhat odd that two random she-cats that lived in the woods would ask a kittypet to join them in rebuilding the old clans, Luck didn't care. She wanted to help them.

Clover || Queen || 15 moons || Loner Hearing the older queen talk so passionately about bringing the Clans back, even if they had been nothing but myth, had Clover thinking that maybe she was right after all. Even if they hadn't ever existed, why couldn't they be created for the first time? She was sure other cats would have heard the stories too, and maybe they would see the benefits of living in a Clan rather than fighting each other for every scrap of prey or bit of territory. That way they could enjoy the results of their hard work together. The tabby's eyes lit up at the thought. "I actually might have an idea for you, Luck," she said. "I'm not sure how well it will work, but... What if we could explain to your mother about how great a Clan would be for you, like a real family? She seems like she cares about you being safe, so maybe if we show her that you'll be fine with a Clan she'll be more willing to let you join!" Clover's whiskers twitched excitedly as she spoke. Hopefully Luck's mother would be able to see that this was what her kit wanted, she seemed upset being stuck in that tiny garden of hers, and the young queen couldn't blame her. She couldn't imagine being confined to such a small space for so long. "I don't know how easily your mother can be persuaded though," Clover added, realizing her plan might not work. Some cats were too stubborn in their views to see that there could possibly be a better alternative. It was worth a shot, at least. Until Luck could find a way to join them, the little tabby would do her best to help Red on her own. She turned to the ginger she-cat curiously. "What sort of things do we need to do to create a Clan, anyway? I've heard a lot of the stories but I'm not sure how we could make them happen..."

Red | She-Cat | 43 moons | Rogue Big golden eyes stared up at Luck and blinked slowly, a sign of her recognizing how hard it could be to leave when someone else was holding you back. Her own mother had held her back from the life she wanted for so long, but unlike Luck, she had grown to resent her mother enough not to even ask for a blessing when she ran off on her own. But she did know what it was like to lose a kit, two in fact, so she could also see how it might be painful for Luck’s mother to just simply give her up.
Clover’s idea took her by surprise, mostly because it was a good one and she hadn’t quite expected the younger cat to think so quickly in times of need, even if this wasn’t dire. She would make a good Clan cat with that attribute. Nodding along to what the tabby she-cat was saying, she wondered whether or not they should mention that if any trouble came up they could protect the oddly colored queen, or whether that would just ruin everything. Red mentally decided she wouldn’t bring it up if the mother didn’t. It was better that way.
“There’s two of us, we should be able to come up with something between us both to help Luck out,” she said reassuringly, mostly to comfort Luck. “Before we do that though, I guess I should tell you two a bit about what needs to be done. We’ll need a camp. I know there’s one somewhere in the forest that used to belong to ThunderClan, I just haven’t found it yet. It’s probably pretty overgrown by now so it’ll take a lot of work to get it fixed up. We’ll also need more cats. Those that don’t know how to hunt or fight will need to be taught. Those are the main things I can think of.”
