Appearance
Gato is suspected to have Balinese ancestry, but no one can tell for sure. He does has the same thin frame and relatively delicate bones, making him fairly inefficient at fighting. His fur is semi-long, silky, and flows gracefully around his long, slender legs, which end in soft oval paws. Cute pink toe beans stick to the bottom of his feet, and they match the color of his nose, save for the black dots speckled on it. Gato’s head shape is more wedge-shaped than a normal Balinese, however, so it is likely that if he does have any in him, it is at least a few generations back.
His coloration is a bit odd, as it appears he has cream points, but the only truly white portion of his body is his muzzle, part of the bridge of his nose, and a “hood” over his head and neck. The rest of his fur is a pale cream color except for his tail, which turns into a darker, more orange color. Perhaps most striking about his appearance, however, are his blue eyes. These eyes glimmer with mirth and, perhaps, a bit of insanity.[/ul]
Personality
He likes other cats, but his is a bit… disturbed in the head. A past event caused him to have a bit of PTSD, and certain phrases and moves may trigger it. Should a trigger be set off, he may hiss, bite, and scratch without warning, which can be quite alarming, especially to those that don’t know him. He has even done this to his twoleg a few times, but that was because of bath time, which is a whole other trigger altogether. Any other animals besides cats he does not like at all. Dogs? Scratch them. Birds? Eat them. Caterpillars? Bat at them until they stop moving. If it’s not a cat or a person, he doesn’t want to be friendly with it.
He is a bright individual and is much better at problem solving than he is at fighting, which is why he tries to get out of situations by using words rather than his claws (unless it’s PTSD induced). Sometimes, however, his solutions are blunt rather than creative, and can come across as rude or condescending. This is not what he means to do, he would simply like the other to realize there are times when simple, obvious solutions will work just as well as a complex, creative one would—and possibly better, too. Not everything has to be as complicated as others tend to make it.
While he can easily entertain himself for hours with a stuffed toy or a piece of grass, Gato really loves to travel, and thus Grunt has gotten used to the tom cat not coming home for days on end. Once he was even gone for a month, but the cat door is always left unlocked, and there is never a new cat in the house when he gets home. Grunt and Gato have a bit of a mutual understanding that they can both go without seeing each other, and will enjoy each others’ company when they do.
Now, Gato will eat any food he is given access to. His favorite food flavor is chicken, though he has also been known to eat potatoes, especially french fries. How does he stay thin, then? He walks a lot. Does a lot of exploring. He’s even been to the other end of the moor before, and next time, he plans to go beyond, if he can. His absolute favorite toy and food, however, are shoelaces. His twoleg only has laceless shoes now.[/ul]
