Anyone here own a cat or two?

I do. Actually I don't personally own them, they're my grandmother's (who I live with) and thanks to people dropping off their cats... we have 30 indoor cats and 3 regular strays. If you think that's a lot, YES, YES IT IS. But I'm too lazy to add photos of them right now. So I'll just list off their names and what they look like.

Indoor cats:
Adele - ♀ - Long haired tabby with white chest/paws
Adina - ♀ - Black cat (she's built a lot like a WindClan cat, unlike her brother Aiden)
Aiden - ♂ - Black cat with white "locket" who is a chubby butt
Ben - ♂ - Black and white semi-long furred cat
Boots - ♀ - Old, whiny long, haired black and white cat with white feet
Casey - ♂ - Almost completely feral tabby and white cat
Chessie - ♀ - Grumpy white and ginger cat
Cosmo - ♂ - Black and white furball that loves attention
Dallas - ♂ - Tabby cat that's scared of everything
Devon - ♂ - Weird tabby furball
Erika - ♀ - Tabby and white kitty that thinks all other cats are her children
Firefly - ♀ - Tortoiseshell/tabby (aka torbie)
Fuzzy - ♂ - Gray and white kitty with a pink nose, twin of Leo
Goliath - ♂ - Tabby with a bottomless pit for a stomach
Gypsy - ♀ - Tabby kitty, loves nose-bumps
Joey - ♂ - Fat black and white cat
Leo - ♂ - Gray and white kitty with gray nose, twin of Fuzzy
Levi - ♂ - Black cat that will come to whatever name you call him
Little Bit - ♂ - Hyperactive ginger and white cat, would definitely be part of WindClan
Lydia - ♀ - Tortoiseshell
Max - ♂ - Gray tabby and white, originally had a gray nose but it turned dark pink, twin of Trouble
Murphy - ♂ - Ginger cat with white muzzle/"bib"
Phantom - ♂ - Tabby cat, affectionately called "old man"
Queenie - ♀ - Tabby and white kitty that gets mad really easily
Riley - ♂ - Tabby and white kitty
Silas - ♂ - Cream tabby
Skeeta - ♀ - Torbie
Smiley - ♂ - Black and white cat with a white mustache
Stella - ♀ - Tabby cat with white chest/belly/toes
Trouble - ♂ - Gray tabby and white with a bright pink nose, twin of Max

Outdoor Cats/Strays:
Silas and Murphy's Father - ♂ - Ginger and white cat with strange light blue eyes
Fuzz Face (Adele's Dad) - ♂ - Long haired tabby, has a broken leg that healed wrong so he limps all the time
Tabby Cat - ♂ - A tabby cat that came up, my grandmother's current favorite, but he has seizures
??? - ♂ - Chubby flat faced white cat with orange tabby patches that comes up sometimes.
??? - ??? - Gray and white cat that comes up rarely and looks like the cat in my icon.

HERE'S SOME FUN FACTS:

• Adele and Devon are siblings. Erika is their grandmother. Erika's 5 kittens are their uncles.
• Fuzzy, Leo, Max, Riley, and Trouble were born on April 1st to Erika.
  
• Adina and Aiden are siblings.
• Firefly is from Erika's first litter of kittens
• Queenie is from Erika's second litter of kittens
• Please note that all of these cats became pregnant while they were strays, they are fixed now.
• Lydia is the mother of Skeeta, Silas, Murphy, and Levi. Her fifth kitten, Eris, died at 4 months old.
• Smiley and Dallas are brothers.
• Cosmo and Goliath are brothers. Cosmo closely resembles our cat Joey.
• We have had Casey 2 years and he still doesn't trust us.
• Gypsy is the only cat we have that was not a stray or the offspring of a stray.
• I had to get up and go walk around because I forgot like 5 of our cats.
  

FAQ:
How do you feed them all?
I really don't know.

How do you remember all their names?
It's difficult.

Doesn't it smell?
I don't know, my smelling is kind of bad to begin with.

Where did they all come from?
Gypsy chose me. The rest just showed up on the doorstep.

Wow, 30!? I can't even imagine how much work that must take to care for them all. With that said though...I have 13 of my own for similar reasons. A few of them are supposed to be fosters technically. I'm a staff member at a non-kill kitty shelter so I actually have somewhere to get them adopted through. I'm just ridiculously attached at this point.

Well, the fewest we ever had was 6... and then it just kept going up. XD It's a wonder I remember most of the ones we used to have.

I'll admit sometimes I need to stop and think about who might be missing at feeding time even with just my 13. xD We have to make a list when we clip claws or put on flea/tick preventives too so we remember who we did already.

So I'm not the only one who does that. By the time I'm done cutting nails, though, I'm covered in fur! You'd think I was a cat myself.

Oh my gosh! 30? 13?Ya'll houses must be huge!! My landlord doesn't allow pets, but I would probably adopt a cat from a shelter whenever I buy my own house.(Which I plan on doing sometime this year!) Plus I have a seven month old who i think needs to be a bit older before I adopt a pet.

I used to babysit my cousin's kids (3 and 4) and she had a cat from the shelter. Bless that darling cat, those kids would pick her up, pull her tail, chase her, irritate her to no end, but she would never hiss at them or scratch them. If they go to her too bad, she'd just run off and hide. I hope when you finally get a cat, you get one like her. :3 She definitely had more patience than I did. XP

My poor cat was like that around my little sister when she was like 4. I don't know she tolerated it. My sister was a little terror.

I've got a cat, Phantom, who is good around people. He loves people. And there was only one time he ever hissed at someone--it was my first cousin once removed (don't ask why I bothered to figure that out) Patrick. The kid is like... Two? I think? He kept petting Phantom really hard and then pulled his tail. Phantom hissed at Patrick, which scared him, but at least the poor cat was able to walk away after that.
... The realization that most of the stories from my 21 years of life revolve around cats. I'm not sure how to feel about that.

I've got 2! We found them on a busy street in town as kittens and we picked them up. They had no tags and were frost bitten. Now they are around 11 years old! One is very lean and pretty, his name is Tiger, and the other is super fat... And his name is Angel. I love them both a lot :-)

Aw! I'm glad they found a good home with you. :) Now they get to be grumpy old toms together.

Yeah they are pretty funny to watch, they've become more lazy with age, but they are also more cuddly, which I don't mind one bit :-P

My cat Boots loves cuddling. She's 13 now, if I remember right. (I probably don't, it's a nightmare keeping up with their ages.) She doesn't seem to realize I don't like having her long fur in my mouth though. XP
