Here's a simple example application so you know how to format your own. Feel free to add extra things to your bio, but make sure to fill in all the required fields. Put [WIP] somewhere in the thread title so the admin know you're not done yet.
Some people also choose to include a relationships section on their character sheets to keep track of the other characters their cat is involved with. The general format for this is in the spoiler below.
If you'd like to start out with a character that already has some ties to other cats in-game, be sure to check out the Family Finder board! You can look there for characters to play that already have a built-in family, so establishing in-character ties will be a bit easier. The process is exactly the same as creating a character from scratch, aside from the fact you are given a vague description of the cat you're going to create. You still supply the bulk of it yourself.
Don't forget to put [Complete] or something similar in the title of your characters thread when you're finished so it can be checked and approved for roleplay! If characters who still have a [WIP] tag in the thread title are left untouched for more than two weeks, their thread is eligible for deletion. We'll send you a PM to gently prompt you to make a small edit, and if there's no reply we'll send you another to let you know when they will be deleted unless you start working on them again.
This is to keep the Character Creation board from overflowing with uncompleted characters.
Most characters tend to go through at least two checks, so don't be discouraged if you don't get your character approved on your first try! We just want to help you have the best character you can before approving them for roleplay. I'll generally check the character by replying to their thread, but if you'd rather I talk to you about it through PMs, Skype, or another method I'm fine with that as well ^^ Just let me know somewhere in the character sheet!
If you're having trouble, try taking a look at other peoples' bios in the accepted bios area. Feel free to comment on this thread or PM an admin if you need any assistance!
Name: This is simple, just your character's name.
Desired Name: This is only applicable if your character is an apprentice, or a loner, rogue or kittypet you intend to have join a Clan. Otherwise, just leave this blank. Also, if you'd prefer to let the leader of your cat's Clan choose their name, you can leave this blank as well.
Age: Your character's age. Please list this in moons. Can be no younger than 6 moons, and no older than 60 moons.
Rank: Your character's rank in the warriors world. If you're not sure what rank your cat would be, please have a look at this page. Keep in mind this is only applicable to Clan cats and other organized groups. If your cat is a rogue, loner, or kittypet, you can leave this blank.
Allegiance: The group your cat belongs to. For a list of all the possible groups your cat could be a part of, see this page.
Birth Moon: Moon and Year format. The current moon and year can be found in the tabs to the right of every page. I've made a spreadsheet to help with this step, since it's usually the point where people get stuck. Alternatively, you can use this site and do it the old fashioned way, though it's considerably more effort.
Gender: Your character's gender. Must be either a tom (un-neutered male), queen (un-spayed female), gib (neutered male) or a molly (spayed female).
Appearance: This should be at least a few sentences, describing your character's appearance in detail. This is for you or other players to refer to when necessary. This is also used to create genotypes.
Personality: Give a summary of your character's personality. Try not to say what other people generally think of them, as that is considered powerplaying. Instead, describe how your character looks at the world, what they think of things, and how they act. Include lots of detail here; it doesn't have to be paragraphs, but more than a sentence or two.
History: Here you can give a quick history of your character's life so far. Unless something of importance has happened in your character's past, you can leave this blank if you choose. Of course, the more info the better!
