As a lot of you have probably noticed, this forum is pretty inactive lately. So, Zesha and I have been talking about ways to get things going and we figured an event would be a good idea! We went looking around, and one that we both seem to like is thread roulette.
For thread roulette, members can enter as many or as few of their characters into a roulette as they like and each entry will be assigned a number. Then a random generator will be used to choose two characters who will then participate in a thread together! Of course, the players will decide what goes on in the thread, and it can be anything as long as it abides by the rules and makes sense within the game setting. There would be no real "end date" for this event, since it's mainly to get threads started between characters that wouldn't normally pair up.
This can be altered if anyone has ideas for improvement, or we don't have to do it at all if no one is interested. After all, the whole point of an event is to get everyone having fun!
I'd also like to ask for any other events you'd like to see, whether they're something held out-of-character or an event that affects the characters as well as the players. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The thread thing sounds awesome!
Another event thing could be something in roleplay like a natural disaster where the characters need to either help each other and in a way drive them together.

I was thinking last night of a possible site wide plot (because who needs sleep apparently), and I remembered that @hellion has a character that knows quite a bit about the clans. What if that character were to spread around for other cats to meet at Fourtrees on the full moon? Perhaps that could start getting the clans back together. (Or, in Red's case, be angered that she didn't think of doing it herself.) Thoughts?

Right now there is a thread going with him and Flame where he is first discovering the gathering place. In thread I can wolf tell her to spread the word and on the next full moon they meet.
Wolf's ideas of the clans are very idealist. They were told him as legends and amazing stories but the reality of it (battles/hunger/faith/how strict some of the code is etc) was ignored to keep the wonder

I'm glad everyone seems to like the thread roulette idea! I'm not sure when would be best to have it happen, although I imagine sooner is better than later. Maybe in the next day or two I'll put up an entry thread, wait a few days for everyone to get their entries in, and then pair everyone up. How does that sound?
I also considered the natural disaster idea myself since it's definitely something to get things moving. I'm just worried that it might prevent cats from meeting each other and forming groups, although the opposite could just as easily happen. Maybe we could do this as well if everyone was interested in it ^^
I really like the idea of Wolf trying to set up a gathering! It'd be a fun way to draw some cats together and get knowledge of the Clans spreading again.

I hope Rex joins in the gathering, too. It will be interesting to see how Flame, Rex, and Red will react to seeing each other again, or if they'll try to avoid each other.
Oh, also, for anyone who hasn't... pop into the chatbox every now and then, if you can. ^_^ Even if it's just to say some random stuff. It feels so weird to me that it isn't used that much, since everywhere else I've been the chatbox is such a central part of a board. It's also a good place to ask others if they want to RP, if anyone is on.

I'm sure all of my characters will attend the gathering if that's allowed. I'll throw those four anywhere I can really. xD I'll probably enter all four in the thread roulette as well.

Jasper would definitely be interested in going to a gathering like that! He would be a big grump about it of course, but on the inside, he would be very excited. Also, since I came in after the thread roulette was over, I'd definitely be up for it if we do that again.

I'm only on book... I forget now, I'm like halfway through Power of Three again, and I've never read past that series, so this may have been done in the book. What if we had a lunar eclipse? That's where the moon passes through the shadow of the earth and it appears red. Here's Wikipedia's more professional sounding answer: "A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly behind the Earth into its umbra (shadow). This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned (in "syzygy") exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, a lunar eclipse can only occur the night of a full moon." The thread roulette turned out pretty well this time around, even if there weren't too many members signed up. I'm sure we'll do it again at some point ^^ I know I really enjoy the unpredictable pairings.
A lunar eclipse could be a really cool idea! It actually did happen in Power of Three, in the fourth book I believe? It's been so long since I read them though, I don't remember what happened at all. Since they can only happen during a full moon, it would be interesting to see how the cats interpret the moon turning red during a gathering. I'm definitely on board with this idea!

I believe that was a solar eclipse. One moment... yup. Power of Three book five, Eclipse. While WindClan and RiverClan are attacking ThunderClan and ShadowClan, the moon passes in front of the sun, causing a solar eclipse. I'm still curious how Sol knew about that though.
